Gonzalo Higuain made the difference as he struck twice to give the Bianconeri advantage away from home.
The French side did put some pressure in the early part of the first half, forcing Buffon to a good number of saves and the two centre backs of Georgio Chellini and Leonardo Bonucci picking up a yellow card each in the process.
But Higuain shot from close range changed the game after Daniel Alves’s back heel pass found him in the 18 yard box in the 29th minute to give the Old Ladies the lead.
Alves also engineered the second when his cross perfectly located Higuain in the box again who dove to tap in, in the hour.
Juventus now look as favorites for the UCL final just like the defending champions who convincingly beat Atletico Madrid 3-0 on Tuesday night.
The Old Ladies will now hope to finish the story in Turin on May 9, when Monaco must replicate the score line of Wednesday night or do better to pass to the final. However, the Massimiliano Allegri’s men and Real Madrid remain the favorites for the Cardiff party.
