MONACO, JUVE BATTLE FOR CARDIFF TICKET

Monaco hosts the Italian Champions tonight at the Stade Louis II in a first leg semi final tie that will half determine who plays in the 2016/2017 UCL final at Cardiff this year.

will half determine who plays in the 2016/2017 UCL final at Cardiff this year.

This fixture makes it the second time both teams will meet at the UCL semi finals, having met at the 1997/1998 season when the Old Ladies won on a 6-4 aggregate. Both clubs also combated at the Quarter finals in the 2014/2015 season which ended in a 1-0 aggregate in favor of Juventus.

Juventus have won the Serie A 5 times in a streak and are in position to clinch their sixth title.  The Massimiliano Allegri’s men were forced to a 2-2 draw away from home at Atalanta last weekend leaving the title open for Roma to fight for, though the Giallorossi lost 1-3 at home to Lazio in their last fixture.

Meanwhile, AS Monaco last won the league in the 1999/2000 season and has only come close twice since then. The Red and Whites have been very consistent this season and are close to clinching their first French title in 17 years. The Leonardo Jardim’s men are 3 point ahead of French Champions, PSG who have played a game in excess.
