Arsenal join Morata race, Uses first team football as bait for Spaniard

Arsenal have joined the race to sign Real Madrid sensation Alvaro Morata with the Sun reporting the Gunners will rival Manchester United and Chelsea for his signature.

The Spain forward has been stuck behind Karim Benzema this season and as the French star’s performance against Atletico Madrid this week showed there is little prospect of Zinedine Zidane replacing him any time soon.

The former Juventus star will cost about £50 million, with Arsene Wenger highlighting him as the ideal replacement for Alexis Sanchez, should he depart this summer given his reluctance to sign a new contract.

Arsenal’s trump card could be the guaranteed starts and expansive role Morata would be afforded compared to other clubs.
