RODRIGUEZ BIDS BERNABEU FAREWELL

Reports from Spanish media says James Rodriguez waved goodbye to Real Madrid’s fans following his substitution in their La Liga win against Sevilla on Sunday.

The Colombia international added to speculation that he has reached an agreement to join Manchester United this summer by applauding all four sides of the Bernabeu when he was taken off in Los Blancos‘ final home game of the season, a 4-1 victory that left them level on points with Barcelona at the top of La Liga with two games remaining.

Since joining Real from Monaco following the 2014 World Cup, Rodriguez has failed to hold down a regular starting shirt under a succession of managers but, with Zinedine Zidane rotating his squad in recent weeks, he has scored seven goals in his last 10 appearances.

If the speculation is true, Manchester United fans will be glad to have Rodriguez at the Old Trafford as Jose Mourinho is already looking to downsize and bolster his team in preparations for next season’s potential Champions League participation.
