Morata Says YES to AC Milan Move

Real Madrid forward Alvaro Morata has reportedly agreed to join AC Milan this summer.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport the Spain international has advised the Serie A giants he is ready to head to the San Siro this summer in a deal that would see him pick up around €7.5 million (£6.5 million) a season. Milan would reportedly have to pay around €60 million (£52 million) to get him on board.

Reports show that Morata has been happy to give his word to Milan that he will join them, deciding not to wait until the Blues and Manchester United make any potential move for him.

Milan are set to give their attacking setup a facelift, with the club ready to move on Colombian forward Carlos Bacca.

Morata would be an exciting signing for the Serie A giants and the surest sign yet they are intent on challenging at the summit of Italian football again under new president Li Yonghong. After all, the 24-year-old has enjoyed an extraordinary campaign

What’s even more extraordinary is that Morata has found it so difficult to get minutes at the Santiago Bernabeu, despite having had 29 shots on target and netting 15 in 26 appearances.

Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has utilised Karim Benzema at the point of the attack in the team’s crucial contests this season, with Cristiano Ronaldo to one side and either Isco or Gareth Bale to the other. Morata has been on the fringes in these key encounters.

But at this stage of his career, a player of Morata’s talent and ambition will feel he should be a key part of the starting XI. At most clubs in European football—perhaps Real, Barcelona and Bayern Munich aside—he would be.

Milan would offer those assurances, and the prospect of firing such a prestigious club back to the big time would surely be appealing for Morata. Having moved around a lot already in his short career, there’s little doubt the decision he makes this summer is the most crucial one of his playing days so far.
