Cristiano Ronaldo wants to quit Real Madrid, according to sensational reports in Portugal.
The Portuguese superstar has been embroiled in a lawsuit over tax avoidance allegations,Spanish prosecutors believe the 32-year-old should have paid tax on image rights income.
And he is being accused of defrauding the tax office of nearly £13million,Madrid have released a statement this week strongly defending Ronaldo.
However, the forward is far from happy with his situation in Spain.
According to Portuguese newspaper A Bola, Ronaldo has made an ‘irreversible’ decision to leave Madrid and the country.
It is said the four-time Ballon d’Or winner has even informed Madrid president Florentino Perez of his decision.
Ronaldo has been at the Bernabeu since 2009 and is contracted up until 2021,But he is ready to quit and will apparently seek a transfer next month shortly after the small break following the Confederations Cup.
Previous reports have suggested the former Manchester United ace would be the subject of a world-record bid this summer.
And according to The Independent, his old team would be keen to bring him back to Old Trafford. They claim Ed Woodward is obsessed by star appeal and signing arguably football’s biggest individual brand would tick every box for United.
Having missed out on Antoine Griezmann and with Andrea Belotti proving expensive, Cristiano Ronaldo could now be targeted.
Paris Saint-Germain are also long-term admirers, though.
