Manchester United have been handed a major boost in their pursuit of Real Madrid star Alvaro Morata.

The striker is a top target for Jose Mourinho this summer.But talks between the two clubs have hit a stalemate of late with United not willing to pay more than £60m and Real demanding £70.

However The Express report this morning that Madrid are ready to negotiate down their asking price to nearer to United’s £60m valuation.

Manchester United goalkeeper Sam Johnstone is wanted by FIVE clubs this summer.

Middlesbrough, West Brom, Leicester, Huddersfield and Aston Villa are all keen on the Old Trafford reserve, Mail Online report.Johnstone spent the second-half of last season on loan at Villa.Steve Bruce wants him back as he bids to whip the club into shape ahead of a promotion charge next term.

But he’s facing still competition to get him with Boro and Huddersfield keen on permanent deals rather than loan swoops.

Inter Milan are set to keep Ivan Perisic this summer.Manchester United wanted the Croatian winger and bid £30m for his services.

But Inter turned down their offer, with £45m their valuation of the player.United hoped the Serie A club would be forced into a sale to ensure they met Financial Fair Play regulations.But Italian outlet Calcio Mercato report Inter have managed to met their target, and now don’t need to sell Perisic.

They’ve blocked a transfer for the timebeing, but may decide to sell if United up their offer.

Italian website Tuttomercatoweb is claiming that the Red Devils are set to battle with Juventus for the signature of the 24-year-old Ivory Coast defender.

The same story quotes talkSPORT as claiming that Manchester United are interested in signing the defender as Jose Mourinho looks to sure up his rearguard options ahead of next season.

The article claims that Aurier looks set to leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer after refusing to sign a new deal with the Ligue 1 champions.

A move for Aurier would come as something of a surprise to Manchester United fans, who have already seen Mourinho move quickly to bolster his defensive options with the signing of Victor Lindelof this summer.
