Manchester City are ready to offer a staggering £70 million to snatch Alexis Sanchez before the transfer window slams shut.
Pep Guardiola and his Etihad bosses will pursue Arsenal star Sanchez right until the 11pm deadline on August 31 in the hope the Gunners will sell their Chilean attacker.
Sanchez is in the final year of his contract and will walk away for NOTHING before the 2018 World Cup in Russia next June.
But despite missing out on a huge windfall Emirates boss Arsene Wenger still remains adamant they will hold Sanchez until the last day of his contract while they try to tempt him into signing a new £300,000-a-week deal.
With Paris St Germain also in the hunt for Sanchez, City have competition.
But it’s believed through his advisors the South American star has told Guardiola his first choice is a move to the Etihad.
And City believe even though Arsenal have taken a hardline stance with Sanchez, they couldn’t resist a £70 million bid which would take Guardiola’s spending this summer to almost £250million.
Guardiola believes the addition of Sanchez would give City the most potent attacking force in Europe.
And the Spaniard is confident a front three of the Chilean, Gabriel Jesus and Sergio Aguero would offer City a real chance of landing the one trophy he really desires at the Etihad – the Champions League.
