Jurgen Klopp has been admitted to hospital after feeling unwell.
The Liverpool manager missed training today and admitted himself, and has undergone a series of checks in hospital, but is expected to be released soon.
He may, however, have further check ups in the coming days.
No detail has been given about the nature of Klopp’s issue, but the Reds boss underwent an emergency appendicitis operation at a private clinic at Aintree hospital in February 2016.
He missed the 2-2 draw at home with Sunderland, with Pep Lijnders, Peter Krawietz and Zeljko Buvac in charge in his absence.
Last week, Klopp visited South Africa during the international break for a charity event, as well as general rest and recuperation ahead of a busy period of Premier League and Champions League football.
The 50-year-old was due to attend the premiere at FACT Picture house for the Kenny Dalglish biopic ‘Kenny’ on Wednesday evening, alongside several of his players, but will no longer be present.
It is not known if he will take charge of training on Thursday, with the club holding their regular pre-match press conference on Friday afternoon.
