Everton are reportedly aiming to complete a deal for Besiktas striker Cenk Tosun later today.
The Toffees have been looking to get a deal for the 26-year-old done early in the January transfer window, with reports last week suggesting that a fee of £25m had been agreed between both clubs.
Yesterday the deal was thrown into doubt, however, after the Turkish side allegedly demanded an extra £2m at the 11th hour – a fee the Premier League side are unwilling to meet.
According to The Guardian, Everton representatives will meet Besiktas president Fikret Orman in London today with the hopes of getting the transfer back on track and over the line.
The newspaper claims that the player himself is “confident the deal will go through” and expects to sign a four-and-a-half year contract in short order.
