Manchester United are determined to strengthen their squad this winter with PSG wing wizard Moura emerging as a target.
The Brazil international nearly joined the Red Devils in 2012 but, despite Sir Alex Ferguson doing his best to facilitate a move, the player moved to France instead.
However, Jose Mourinho seems to be faring far better than his predecessor, with Gazetta dello Sport claiming Manchester United have now agreed personal terms with the 25-year-old.
Moura has supposedly rejected other offers as he wants to work under Mourinho.
United’s need for a new winger remains clear after the Red Devils missed out on Inter Milan’s Ivan Perisic in the summer.
And the same can be said for Anthony Martial, whose impressive performances have also tailed off.
Mourinho was known to be furious after missing out on Perisic, who was earmarked as a priority signing during the summer transfer window.
And Gazetta dello Sport say Mourinho is now confident of landing Moura in January.
All that reportedly remains is for United to strike a deal for PSG.
Meanwhile, writing in his autobiography, Ferguson admitted he wanted Moura at Old Trafford during his time in the hotseat.
“Right towards the end of my time at United we were pursuing Lucas Moura, the immensely talented right winger who, at the time, was playing in his native Brazil for Sao Paulo,” Ferguson wrote in his 2015 book Leading.
“We offered £24million for him, which was upped to £30m and again to £35m, but Paris Saint-Germain signed him for £45m. David and I were just not prepared to go to those sorts of levels.”
