Midfielder Andre Gomes has revealed that some of his performances for Barcelona have left him feeling ‘ashamed’.
In 2016, Gomes completed a high-profile transfer from Valencia to Camp Nou but despite making 72 appearances in all competitions, the Portuguese international has struggled to make an impression at the Catalan giants.
Gomes has previously been linked with a move away from the club, and the player has claimed that life for him at Barca has become “a bit of a hell”.
The 24-year-old told Panenka: “Maybe it’s not the best word but it has become a bit of a hell, because I started to feel the pressure.
“The feeling that I have during games is bad. Thinking too much hurts me, because I think about the bad things. Although my teammates support me a lot, things don’t go for me how they want them to go.
Gomes could be part of the Barcelona squad which faces Chelsea in the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie on Wednesday night.
