Arsenal Goalkeeper Petr Cech have his long awaited 200 Premier League clean sheet come to an end after Arsenal were 3 nil winners against Watford at the Emirates on Sunday. His last clean sheet was far back in December.
The Ex-Czech International has enjoyed an incredible career for both Chelsea and Arsenal in the English top flight.
But his record from the spot-kick has not been encouraging has he has failed to make a safe in his last 15 attempts.
What’s more appalling is that he has dived the wrong way on 12 occasions.
But finally the course was broken on Sunday when he dived to his right to save Watford skipper Troy Deeney’s spot kick after Roberto Pereyra was brought down by Ainsley Maitland-Niles in the box.
The now retired Czech Goalkeeper became the first goalkeeper to reach the milestone in the competition while also breaking an incredible run of more than seven years since his last penalty safe.
That safe had come against Fulham back in February 2011 while he was still a Chelsea player.
The win against Watford also marks Arsenal 1000th home goal in the Premier League after Mustafi headed home from a Mesut Ozil freekick.
