WENGER WON’T LET HIS FUTURE DISTRACT EUROPA LEAGUE DREAM.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has played down on any rumour surrounding his future at the London club. The French man calmed questions over his future yesterday.

Ahead of their Europa League clash with CSKA Moscow, Wenger was asked by a Russian journalist if his future is dependent on winning the competition.

But the Frenchman would only reply: “The Europa League is important for us, everyone knows that.

“We are at a stage where we focus on it because in the Premier League we have a very, very slim chance to move further up so the Europa League is one of the big targets now.”

Arsenal take a 4-1 first leg win at the Emirates to Moscow where they will hope to round things off against Cska Moscow for a semi-final berth.

Arsenal and manager Wenger are yet to win in Europe despite participating multiple times but they hope to win the Europa as it’s only the passage to the Champions League for next season.

A brace each from French star Alexandre Lacazette and Wales man Aaron Ramsey sealed the victory for the Gunners at the Emirates last week.
