Manchester City have reportedly decided to join the race to sign midfielder Andres Iniesta, who appears ready to leave Barcelona.
Since the start of 2018, Iniesta has been linked with a lucrative switch to the Chinese Super League and it has been suggested that Chongqing Dangdai Lifan are the favourites to secure a deal with the player.
However, according to AS, City boss Pep Guardiola is ready to launch a late approach for the 33-year-old, who recently starred in Barca’s 5-0 victory over Sevilla in the Copa del Rey final.
Iniesta turns 34 in May, but Guardiola allegedly wants to be reunited with a player who he worked with during his successful period at Camp Nou between 2008 and 2012.
The club legend has made a total of 669 appearances for Barca in all competitions having spent his entire career with the Catalan giants.
