Chelsea have opened talks with AS Roma defender Kostas Manolas .
Italian transfer expert Alfredo Pedulla reports Chelsea have already opened talks with the 27-year-old’s representatives.
Manolas has a €38m (£33m) release clause in his contract, which the Premier League side are willing to pay.
They like Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly too, but know Napoli will demand mega-money for the Senegal centre-back.
Maurizio Sarri, who is expected to swap Napoli for Chelsea this summer, is fan of Koulibaly, but also likes Manolas too.
Chelsea are desperately in need to reinforce going into the new season and the backline is one of the areas looked into as both Gary Cahill and David Luiz are looking out of sort.
