Manchester City manager Josep Guardiola has praised his side’s performance during their 6-1 bashing of Huddersfield Town this afternoon.
The defending champions ran riots in the first home game of their title defence, with Sergio Aguero netting a hat-trick and Gabriel Jesus and David Silva also on the score sheet.
The result makes it two wins from two for City at the start of the new campaign, but Guardiola saw a marked improvement from his side’s opening-weekend 2-0 win over Arsenal.
“Today was much better in terms of football and consistency during 90 minutes,” Guardiola told reporters.
“Against Chelsea and Arsenal we survived more than playing good. Today, attacking 10 players in the box, I think we did it quite well.”
City’s win sees them climb to the top of the Premier League table, albeit only after two games with four goals better than Chelsea.
