And Florentino Perez, the Real president, has given orders for club officials to find two players that can improve Julen Lopetegui’s squad in January, following Los Blancos’ poor start to the season.
Real have won just four of their eight league matches so far to sit fourth in La Liga, while they also suffered a shock defeat in their second Champions League group stage match to increase doubts they may struggle to progress to the knockout rounds.
Real appear to be struggling without Cristiano Ronaldo, who left for Juventus earlier this year, and Perez wants to bring in a pair of players to replace the Portuguese’s influence
And, according to El Confidencial, Kane has been placed at the top of Real’s shortlist – with the club confident they could perhaps sign him when the transfer window reopens in January.
Madrid believe Spurs’ struggles in the Champions League – they’ve lost both their opening two matches – could open the door to a move for Kane, as Tottenham would suffer a ‘serious economic stumble’ by failing to reach the latter stages of Europe’s premier club competition.
Furthermore, due to new UEFA regulations, Kane WOULD be allowed to play for Real in European competition this season despite already playing for Spurs; playing for two clubs in the same Champions League season was previously not allowed.
RB Leipzig and Germany forward Timo Werner, 22, is named in the report as an alternate target for Real should a move for Kane prove impossible. while the Madrid club continue to hold interest in Eden Hazard, the Chelsea forward.
