Totti Confirms His 30-year association with Roma has ended

Roma director Francesco Totti has resigned from his role and ended his 30-year association with the Serie A club. The former forward spent his entire playing career with the Italian giants, making over 700 appearances for them before retiring in 2017.

Totti, who scored 307 goals for the club, then moved into the club’s boardroom but his relationship with president James Pallotta has become strained in recent weeks. The American claimed he had offered him the technical director job but Totti has now decided to move on.

He told a press conference on Monday: “I resign as a Roma executive. I was hoping that this day never came, instead this ugly and heavy day has arrived. “I was never given the chance to work practically on the technical area. “In front of everything there must be Rome.

There must be love for Rome. Presidents pass, coaches pass, players pass, colours don’t. This decision is not my fault. “They knew my desire to give so much to this team, but they never wanted to. They kept me out of everything.”
