Manchester United’s forward, Alexis Sanchez might remain the highest paid player at the club despite his impending move to Inter Milan, reports confirmed.
Terms of the Chilean’s deal were agreed on Tuesday night according to BBC Sport, with Manchester United ready to off-load their expensive flop.
Sanchez will be loaned to the Nerazzurri until June 2020 and there is no obligation for the Italian club to buy next summer.
It’s a deal that seemingly works out very well for Antonio Conte’s side – especially if reports over how much of the players’ wages they have to pay are true.
The Times write that Inter will only have to cover £9.64 million of Sanchez’s wages, while United continue to pay the other £6 million.
In effect, the Premier League club will continue to pay the 30-year-old forward around £121,000-per-week, despite the fact he’ll be playing in Serie A.
Incredibly, that means Sanchez will still be United’s eighth highest-paid player, even with Inter subsidising a majority of his wages.
Per reports, the only seven first-team members that continue to make more than Sanchez each week are:
Paul Pogba – £290,000
Anthony Martial – £250,000
David de Gea – £200,000
Marcus Rashford – £200,000
Harry Maguire – £189,904
Juan Mata – £160,000
Luke Shaw – £150,000
