Liverpool Manager, Jurgen Klopp has confirmed Sadio Mane has suffered a “muscle tweak”.
But the Liverpool boss is unsure whether the striker will be fit for the Reds’ clash with West Ham next time out in the Premier League.
“Sadio is a real shame he had to go off,” said Klopp. “Hopefully it’s not too bad – just a muscle tweak, but we will see tomorrow.”
Mane was forced off in the first half of Liverpool’s 2-1 win over Wolves at Molineux on Thursday evening.
The Senegal international dropped to the ground and appeared to be holding his hamstring.
The striker received some treatment on the pitch but was told he’d be coming off as a precaution, and suddenly jumped to his feet.
He then limped off the pitch and was replaced by January signing Takumi Minamino.
Liverpool were leading when Mane was forced to make way after Jordan Henderson headed home a Trent Alexander-Arnold corner from the right.
But Wolves pegged the Reds back after the break through Raul Jimenez, who got his head on the end of an Adama Traore cross.
The home side looked as if they were going to get something from the game, but Roberto Firmino won the game for the Reds with a composed shot that beat Rui Patricio.
