Chelsea are favourites to make Kai Havertz their next signing after finally wrapping up a £47.5m deal for Timo Werner.
But they want Bayer Leverkusen’s £90m asking price to come down significantly before they do business.
Chelsea confirmed on Thursday morning the signing of Werner, who has agreed a five-year contract worth £170,000-a-week and will join them from RB Leipzig in July.
But they have also received a double boost in their pursuit of Havertz, who has a host of clubs chasing him.
Reports also say both Real Madrid and Bayern Munich want to wait a year before doing a deal.
But if Havertz is to leave, Leverkusen want him sold this summer because he only has two years left on his contract.
