Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly expressed an interest in signing AC Milan defender Leonardo Bonucci this summer.
The Serie A giants are currently embroiled in an ownership dispute less than two years on from being taken over by a wealthy Chinese consortium.
As a result, Bonucci’s salary may have to be taken off the wage bill in order to meet the requirements of Financial Fair Play (FFP).
According to Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport, Chelsea will face competition from PSG for Bonucci’s signature.
The report states that Maurizio Sarri, who is expected to take over from Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge, sees Bonucci as the defensive lynchpin of his prospective lineup.
UEFA have already fined Milan and banned them from competing in Europe for breaching the governing body’s financial regulations.
