Barcelona to hijack Real Madrid bid for Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba

Barcelona are reportedly hopeful of hijacking Real Madrid‘s bid for Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba this summer.

The 26-year-old’s future has been one of the most discussed topics of recent transfer windows and this summer’s looks to be no different following a poor season for United which saw them miss out on Champions League football.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is expected to oversee a significant overhaul of his squad which could include shipping out high-profile players such as Pogba, Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku.

Real Madrid have long been favourites to sign Pogba following a disappointing campaign of their own, but the Frenchman’s wage demands of more than £13m per year are understood to have stalled negotiations.

Tuttosport now claims that Barcelona are hopeful of beating their bitter rivals to the signature of Pogba by launching a £130m offer to United.

The Spanish champions have already bolstered their midfield with the addition of Frenkie de Jong, while they have also been heavily linked with big-money moves for Matthijs de Ligt and Antoine Griezmann this summer.
